2021 Thank you
Alhamdulilah for 2021 – in spite of the challenges, it has been an amazing year which saw connections and collaborations with a host of organisations like never before.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make the year one to remember for all the beneficial connections, sharing of knowledge, creating well being and activity/experiences, celebrating diversity, raising awareness of causes, showcasing Muslim arts, businesses and supporting charitable causes … to name but a few of the amazing outcomes, alhamdulilah in this challenging year! Started out online, and grateful for the return of in-person events …
A rewind and reflection revealed our incredible programme of events and initiatives: #Faithbook with Sheikh Saalim Al-Azhari, connecting with the Qu’ran Zoom sessions, International Womens Day ‘in converation’ via Zoom, in addition to ‘Journey to Hajj’ session, pre-launch of ‘Minarets in the Mountain’ book followed by in-person in conversation with Tharik Hussain at the wonderful Root 25. Pre-and during Ramadan spiritual and well being sessions, Inter-faith and community #RamadanAtHome virtual iftar events with our friends at Naz Legacy Foundation. Supporting charities incl. British Asian Trust, NZF and MAP (zoom panel discussion).
An amazing #EidInTheCity at London Tea Exchange marked our in-person programme. Activity based socials incl. Sisters-only indoor climbing with ClimbMuz, #PhotoWalks in Leicester with MCAPN Muslim Counselling Ntwk, London and Cambridge Mosque, Networking events in Birmingham and London with Human Appeal – UK (with guest reflections incl. Haroon Mota (Muslim Hikers), Sawood Pearce, Mohammed Ali (Soul City Arts) and Bustami (Brimero); Algbra #EmeraldLounge events focus on sustainability with guests from Willowbrook Farm. We also hosted events for singles #MeetMyMuslimMate, our 10th anniversary of #EmeraldQuiz and finally, the New Year’s Eve Comedy Gala – an incredible £108k raised for Human Appeal.
SO a BIG THANK YOU to all who made it a year to remember, from our volunteers, organisations and individuals who gave time and experience and of course all guests (plus those who shared). We are proud to be the leading volunteer-run Muslim Professionals Social Network of its kind in the UK – believing in the spirit of connecting, collaborating and creating individual and collective benefit.
Alhamdulilah for everything. e: info@emeraldnetwork.co.uk to get involved (volunteering, sponsorship and collaborations).
