Re-Connect 2021
LATEST NEWS – IMPACT ON NEW YEAR’S EVE COMEDY GALA 31.12.21
Following the government announcement on 19 July 2021 regarding COVID-19 restrictions, EMERALD was pleased to be able to recommence hosting in-person events as part of our ‘re-connect’ within the Ummah. We would like to draw attention to the following guidelines impacting on remainder of December, in keeping with government published advice – (correct at time of publishing 29/12/21):-
- Reintroducing guidance to work from home, if you can, from 13 December
- Legally mandating face masks in “most public indoor venues”, including theatres and cinemas from 10 December, with exceptions “where it’s not practical, including while eating, drinking, exercising or singing” – our Emerald New Year Eve event will feature food and drink
- NHS COVID passes for nightclubs, unseated indoor venues with more than 500 people, unseated outdoor venues with more than 4,000 people, and any venue with more than 10,000 people (our events are significantly lower in guest numbers, eg. c.250 guests for New Year’s Eve)
- Daily testing for people identified as a contact of a coronavirus case – with isolation required only for people who test positive
LOCATION
EMERALD will liaise with the venue to ensure they are ventilated as best as possible, with reduced venue capacity (to ensure potential for greater social distancing is maintained).
IMPORTANT – COVID-19 SYMPTOMS
If you experience any common Covid-19 symptoms on the day of an event, we strongly advise AGAINST attending the event to minimise risk to all guests in attendance – please DO NOT attend if you are suffering from sore throat, loss of sense of taste, cough, fever, shortness of breath – please take the appropriate medical assistance and rest at home accordingly.
TESTING
EMERALD will NOT make it mandatory for guests to have had either vaccine nor testing before attending events, however we do recommend if you’re able to do so, please do as it will help prevent the spread of the virus.
Lateral flow tests are available FREE via the NHS site – it would be recommended to take a test in the morning of a given event (only takes 30mins to check results). If the result is positive – please DO NOT attend the event, you are welcome to email info@emeraldnetwork.co.uk and inform us of a replacement guest name (eg. friend / family / colleague who can attend on your behalf). There are NO REFUNDS (please read below*).
HANDS – FACE – SPACE
EMERALD will NOT mandate wearing face coverings (as our events feature food and drink), however, we encourage individuals free to wear them as a matter of personal choice. We will encourage all on arrival to use hand sanitiser, and discourage social contact in the form of hand shakes / hugs as a matter of precaution and respect for one another’s wishes to minimise risk. Please do not be offended if our Volunteers request maintaining social distance during the event, especially if crowding takes place in one area (such as foyer).
REFUND POLICY*
ONLY in the instance of event cancellations will refunds be issued (eg. government enforced closure of venues or chance in guest number limits preventing event from proceeding as scheduled or in the unexpected instance of host/volunteer illness). As a guest if you are unable to attend (eg. tested positive or feeling anxious/unwell), welcome to get a replacement friend/guest. With regret there is no scope to carry forward the ticket to another event due to costs relating to a given event (which can only be reimbursed if event cancelled as aforementioned eg. by venue, caterers etc).
